Bob Israel was another decent fine fellow I had the pleasure to know. Bob too was in ROTC, a fellow Officer and Guidon for the Drill Team which in 1961 placed 2nd in the all City competition...the first year ever that Tech had done better than third place.
Bob, for his age had a deep loud base voice that was unmistakeable. He was an ardent junior Sea Scout, and had dreams of joining the Coast Guard as a vocation.
He lived near Piedmont High School, but preferred attending Tech.
I lost track of Bob after Graduation, but always thought highly of him. He was totally dependable, always pitched in no matter what the task. A really good and decent individual.
I hope his life was pleasant and that he achieved all his goals while alive.
If anyone knows the circumstances of his demise, I'd appreciate knowing.
