From classmate Stephanie Doan...

It is with deep regret that I announce the passing of our dear classmate, Juile Nickels Auer on Saturday, August 16, 2014, her birthday. She was my dear friend for years. We went from high school to San Jose State College as Art majors and kept in touch after that especially the last 30 years. I miss her. Julie fought a valiant battle against cancer and was one of the most courageous, talented, determined and dedicated women I have known. I am blessed to have had her as my friend and am so grateful she made it to our 50th Tech reunion where so many of us gathered and reconnected. She leaves behind a very special and loving son, Tom and a legacy of memories. I was unable to post this announcement right after she passed, as her son did not respond to my request to do so. I let the year pass and decided her classmates should know.
